Really good idea to have a non-lethal option, not just for people, but dogs too. If you can’t carry pepper spray, a tactical whip is also good, but more awkward to carry.

A high output flashlight is at the top of my list for non-lethal deterrents…inside buildings or at night it will temporarily blind the target, while it gives you more information about everything.
