Welcome!

It depends on your needs, WOS works well for most use cases and has little downtime. I use that one and getalby.com for a web based wallet

nostr:npub1vl9m8kpcqrxp4ah462pp78y3rupnags7zf5l72kkzw4n4cyek8es5spupu posts a lot of memes, I post a few

You’ll curate your feed over time, you should also see some of your followers follows appear too

I follow any cute female.

🤣

Hahaha

whatever is popular is what I avoid.

Nostr Is unpopular so šŸ¤™

Yup, and wow are the fudders out there in the other silos or what? haha.

For a non custodial lightning wallet where you control your own keys, I would recommend Phoenix Wallet

Yes. Owning keys.

I'll have to look into this!

Thank you!

Rule of thumb is, custodial wallets like WOS for laughs and giggles (less than $10).

A non custodial LN like Phoenix or Breez for less than $100 worth of #sats.

A non custodial on-chain (Layer 1) like BlueWallet for more than $100 worth.

A cold hardware wallet like Jade for more than $1k.

A multisig cold wallet (more than one hardware wallet) for $10k worth of #Bitcoin

Fully agree, only the absolute numbers are personal and different per person. If you don't feel comfortable with your setup: Upgrade!

Orange pilled a co-worker today! Shared your rule of thumb on wallet types and use. Thanks for posting!

He's going with #Strike app, DCA purchase's, then move to cold wallet storage. Showed him no-KYC on ramp options, but he decided to go with KYC route for now.

Phoenix is good, I also use this. It’s costly to start though for a newbie so I didn’t recommend it yet

WelcomešŸ«‚

1. getalby.com --> use zeus

2. ln.tips (telegram) --> use zeus

3. exodus (WOS tie to other wallets, suitable for stacking)

4. Zeus olympus (lsp, self custody --> caution, risk of self closed channel)

5. Phoenix (self custody)

6. Breez (self custody --> caution, risk of self closed channel)

7. Mutiny wallet (self custody --> caution risk of self closed channel)

8. Muun wallet --> mainnet wallet with LN as submarine swap. suitable for stacking, not suitable for zapping)

9. ecash (new type of custodian wallet, still in alpha)

-- follow me

inb4 i use exodus for stacking because it has wos functionality, liquidity, and efficiency but can display balance seamlessly with mainnet wallet. plus l-btc is coming too.

Exodus is one of the worst choices for a wallet. It isn't fully open source and being a multi coin wallet, it has a massive attack surface. Avoid, please.

Breez Wallet is another option…

This guy has bitcoin anecdotes, I recommend follow: nostr:npub18csutpavpzedqgza5vqxclnq9lf2x24xew05ksa829eqkx59k87s6zjpjh

Zeus wallet a good option and you can connect it to your nostr

You should ditch Wallet of Satoshi for nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg. Wallet of Satoshi is custodial and closed source.

For a first time user WOS is more appropriate, it’s extremely easy to use and has an app so bare minimum barrier to entry. Self custody comes after the introductory phase in my opinion

Have you heard of eNuts or Minibits?

I’ve heard of enuts but haven’t researched them yet

You might want to consider doing the research. It's an improvement on custodial services. https://t.me/eNutsWallet

I’ll certainly check in to it, I use phoenix for self custody lightning at the moment. Thanks for the link

I don't have enough money for it to matter at this point.

And when I do, I'm running my own infra and using Zap.

A lot of people say that and never do it.

Who got rich? I'd like to hear some anecdotes.
