Something controversial…or not really! FLUORIDE and Toothpaste.

Well, this was something that was honestly shoved down our throats back in dental school. You’d learn the chemistry, the science etc etc. so you could simply parrot it back to patients.

As a dentist, I think its efficacy is overblown and I don’t see a reason for it to be in the water. What concerns me more is the absolute GARBAGE they put in the toothpastes. The Colgates, Oral-Bs of the world all generally have some kind of abrasive in them. It’s like brushing your teeth with sand. And guess what, if it’s any of that charcoal crap or claims to be a ‘whitening’ toothpaste you may as well brush with sand. Toothpaste should feel like smooth peanut butter to your fingers.

Let me know if you guys enjoyed this and want more dental related stuff.

What toothpaste do you use?

Hi🙋🏻‍♂️. Welcome to #Nostr.

Yes. I would. I would really like more real

Information and if you could aite it or provide studies.

Followed

Do you recommend the nano hydroxy apatate stuff?

I've always stuck with standard non whitening. There's about one option out of 100. Very hard to find. We're now using non fluorinated, but I'm not sure that's best. I've always just rinsed really well. Thoughts?

Yes! Tell us all things dental

Ever since I went carnivore I've used coconut oil as my toothpaste. With no sugar intake I feel like I don't need anything more.

What are your thoughts on that? Anything better you'd recommend?

I think the mechanical action with a toothbrush is what works best to disrupt the plaque and reduces your risk of decay. You’ve nailed it with the lack of sugar in your diet honestly.

What toothpaste do you recommend?

Anything that feels smooth to your fingers. Brand agnostic

Yeah all terrible stuff. Where is your practice doc?

Wait, learning chemistry and science in dental school was a drag for you, but you have a scientific hypothesis we should entertain?? WTF dude : )

I see evidence of this stuff every day in the real world. You missed the point of the post my guy :)
