I went to a rock & mineral show today. Those are fun. There's generally 2 types of people that attend. They are exact opposites but both very fun to talk with. I'm neither, so it's fun to people watch amongst the polarity. I found some neat stuff...

Raw translucent chrysoprase from Bahia, Brazil. I was enamored by the even glow when it's placed on a light. I'll be reading a lot about this one.

A fluorite guitar pick. Maybe I won't lose it.

And this stuff. I'm not sure what it. The guy at the booth seemed grumpy so I didn't ask. My inner creator said I should incorporate it as angel wings into some project though, so it came home with me.

lol what are the two types?

Scientific-minded geologists and woo-woo crystal healers :)

oh, I think the crystal healers are annoying

So do the geologists lol

Let me guess the two types

Crystal Mystics and Geologists

Spot on!

How did I know? 😂🤣

Either white magic or deductive reasoning... either way, good job! 😂

I'll bet he owns magic crystals

It's the only thing that makes sense. 😅

Third one, if expensive, possibly stibnite

It was not expensive, but after searching that, it does look like it could be a really low-grade sample. I'll have it looked at by a professional eventually. If I get an answer, I will try to remember to let you know if you were right. :)

Could be tourmaline but doesnt quite look right. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I'm somewhat familiar with tourmaline and it's definitely not as dark as I have seen. Much more metallic. It looks a lot like carborundum but it doesn't have any iridescence.

So many varieties. Be curious to know if you do get it identified. Just to know if I actually still have a little kniwledge as a geologist!

Well, I had a geologist friend look at that piece. He's leaning the same as you but can't clearly identify it without proper tests and I am not curious enough to pursue it any further. I just want to incorporate it into some artsy thing. I did get a nice lecture about not asking the guy who sold it to me. So that was fun. 😅

It took me a long time to get a straight answer on this... but it's black kyanite.

I love cool rocks!

Same :)

Oh so you just casually found kryptonite!?!???!?

😂 I don't know, maybe? I can't seem to find anyone to test it.
