I was on the fence about going to a blockchain conference, but I wanted to start somewhere. I thought I might be out of my depth because while i'm deep in the space, i'm a new comer to ordinals and the new innovations to BTC, but something told me to give it a shot. I showed up with an open mind, without and expectation of what I wanted the results to be. Honestly, it turned out to be so much better than I could’ve imagined.

- Chatted with @raphjaph who was nice enough to take the time to direct me to learning spots like docs.ordinals.com and the discord.gg/ordinals Ordicord (discord).

- Got a crash course on mining from #Bitaxe and dove into parasite pools and they were nice enough to give away miners! Chip and the guys were awesome and Chips wife was nice enough to pass on to me what what she's learned in a relatable way.

- Learned about odin.fun from @BobBodily for trading runes in a way that clicks for me.

- Explored AI Studio, Claude, Replit, and tips to make AI a sharper tool with @KingBootoshi

To @rodarmor and @realizingerin of @hellmoneypod —I missed their talks, but their work got me through the door in the first place!

Check out these amazing folks if you’re curious, and go chase what sparks you. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

Had a great time At inscribing Vegas, an unexpected thing I learned was about BTC parasite Pools. For a little guy like me this seems great! What are you thoughts?

Parasite Pool is a Bitcoin mining pool designed to decentralize the mining process by supporting smaller, individual miners, often referred to as "pleb" miners. Unlike traditional mining pools, which distribute block rewards proportionally based on each miner’s computational power, Parasite Pool uses a unique payout structure: the miner who finds a block receives 1 BTC, while the remaining reward (currently 2.125 BTC plus transaction fees) is shared among all active pool participants via Lightning payments, a fast and low-cost Bitcoin transaction method. This hybrid approach blends lottery-style mining—offering a big reward to the block finder—with pooled mining, ensuring all contributors benefit. With zero fees and instant payouts, Parasite Pool aims to make mining more accessible and equitable, challenging the control of large, centralized mining operations. Currently in beta, it is already operational and attracting participants [1][2][3].

Reading ten pages of a non fiction book a day has been great.

Try it sometime!!

Besides clients like Primal, are their other types of clients that utilize nostr tech?

I.e a Reddit, Instagram, telegram.

I’ve been trying to find a community to chat easily about the newest Nostr advances

I wonder how far we would need to get into a Bitcoin centric world (mostly meaning assets are finite and distributed through the masses) before war is the absolute no other choice last resort.

I say this because sometimes it’s unavoidable, but how often has one man, one small group of people forced violence and destruction for something they want that does not benefit the masses.

I really believe most people are good at there core, and it’s the people that worm their way into power that weaponize populations. so when the will of the many have decision making power the might not make the best decision but they will make a moral one.

What do you think? Am I crazy?

Man I’m with you I. This. It looks like he had a complete PR makeover to make him more personable, but the switch was so jarring and sudden it just seems wrong

I loved mistborn era 1, era 2 had some charm but yes wasn’t quite the same.

Stormlight has been my favorite for characters.

Would love to recommend

Sun eater series:

was difficult the first book but my god what an incredible story with some of the best set pieces I’ve ever read. This if this sticks the landing in the last book it will be my favorite series of all time.

Red Rising: this series is brutal. I repeat fucking brutal. Game of thrones in space with some crazy action

Riyria Revalations: quick fun trilogy with two main characters that are the bestest of best bud and make the story real fun

I just started Warbreaker, trying to catch more cosmere tie ins. If you have recommendations (for any books) let me know!

Seems like your talking about a different lions, but you know what I said is still true so I’ll let it ride

Detroit deserves all this success and more

If they do this I don’t think it’s the jab people will think, because the bounce back will only reinforce Trumps presidency. It would be petty and short sighted giving another reason for the American people to believe democrats let America down

If anyone tells you that nostr "is just a twitter clone" tell them that it's either their client or that they're being ignorant. Right now the nostr interoperable eco-system brings together many aspects of the legacy web while solving the internets "bounce issue" and the need to have accounts across a multitute of platforms, just to follow one creator or topic.

* This is why I call nostr "a creators business in a box"

* For streaming we have zapstream

* For videos we have zapstream and flare

* For music we have Wavlake

* For audio podcasts we have NostrNests

* For blogs (long-form posts) we have Habla and Yakihonne

* For X-alike short messaging we have notes

* To manage or grow your community we have NIP-72 Communities and now NIP-29 (imo superior to 72)

* For discord we have Chachi (still early but already looks like discord lite)

* For Instagram-alike content we now have Olas

* We also have NIPs for badges, emotes and fund raising (goals)

* (There is more inc zap.cooking and other apps / sites)

All of those can interoperate wich each other. You can seamlessly embed any of your content into any of your other content. Your community only needs ONE "account" to follow ALL of your content and with the right client, they can do that from within one app or one browser tab.

If you don't see the huge potential here for you to further grow as a creator while truly owning your content and your community then it's not nostr, it's you.

Side note, discoverability is also higher on nostr than across all of the legacy social media if you're just starting out as a creator. You'll need at least 1-2 years to gain exposure across Twitch, Medium, X, YouTube and co. On nostr, you'll be discovered instantly and the rest is up to you.

Wouldn’t go with the ā€œyour ignorantā€ argument friend.

Better to educate and be helpful than have this mentality imo.

nostr and its clients shouldn’t be a exclusive club and insulting rather than educating is a fast track to that

This is the way

Nostr is like a hidden cove right now tho, up until a few months ago it was pretty difficult to parse out wtf was going on (most from an information standpoint)

The tech and idea behind it is easy for crypto native people to grasp imo
