I'm of the opinion that if someone is having a call on speakerphone while in public, it's an open invitation for anyone nearby to join the conversation.

I find that when the person says, I love you that I'll say, I love you, too. It makes people smile.

Agree, I was thinking it was just me 😂

I like this approach.

Sliding into this thread, in support of the principle of the statement.

Agreed! 🫡 This is annoying as hell when people do this in public and I also find it rude. This happens way too often.

Yes, just like developing bitcoin-core

The guy who owns the property I live on does all his calls on speaker phone. He'll be right outside my place and I hear all that shit & it's really annoying. Just get some fucking earbuds, jfc! 🤦

Spamming their conversation you mean? 🤔

Group chat!

People have no manners anymore these days. It's rude IMHO.

Its not an invitation even. As soon as you put on speaker the other person will hear everyone except you who is actually making the call anyway... 😂

I've seen this in a crowded Sauna. I try to resist being an angry old man who thinks the younger generation has no manners but they are giving me no help.

I always go stand right next to them and when they ask i say: "oh i thought you wanted me to hear this."

I am always suprised that this somehow became a thing. I mean who wants everybody to hear their conversation except for when you actually get close and start listening.

I only use speaker when i am alone and I have to type or when i am on hold.

To play devil’s advocate:

If it was just two people talking in person would you do the same thing?

If their volume is at an appropriate level why is it such a problem?

The volume is never at an appropriate level.

I completely agree.

Absolutely
