I’m not sure why but it goes against my conscious a bit.. I think keeping people number one and not money first is always front and center.. I honestly don’t know if I can do it.. I’ve never done it for myself and even people have tried for me .. I push away..

I’m extreme I think.. need to find the balance

Everything is about balance, but it's also about value for value.

Nobody wants to see everything someone posts be an ad, but there's also nothing wrong with selling your skills. Peer to peer commerce is what the world needs to relearn. The guilt and anxiety around it is a mindset that we were trained into by society. We've been taught to be ashamed of promoting ourselves, that the only value we have is as a cog in the wheel of society. It's what makes us look at someone building something great and say "It must be nice" instead of doing something ourselves.

We have to untrain the fiat mentality within ourselves.

I think for me is I have to see the non using people in it to start..or it’s repulsive to me

But that's the thing, you're not using people if you are providing value. I've felt the same way, and it took years of people actually asking me to sell stuff to them for me to realize that.

Just like you like to support the folks at a local market, or an artist, people want to do commerce with people they know. They want the personal connection.

Exchanging value, whether in words, actions or currency doesn't have to be shameful or manipulative.

I have to tag a fellow Canadian who specializes in this πŸ˜‚

He's very insightful and inspirational on this exact topic.

For many years I wore poverty as a badge of honor and a large portion of the Canadian identity centers on not being selfish but if it helps and if you feel like your place on this earth is to help people the way to help the most people the quickest is by building your wealth. The sooner a person realizes they are worth than they believe the sooner that person starts becoming the person they were born to be. It didn’t happen over night for me but it happens with time. If I can help you in anyway let me know

It’s not building wealth I have a hard time with.. it’s the marketing part of it I struggle with.. I’m extremely good at it naturally I think.. but just the recruitment of sorts.. it’s gone overkill and I see it for what it is.. and it just puts a blanket of disgust on the entire thing.. which is not balanced either..

If this makes any sense

No matter how a person feels about marketing it is a necessity today. To cut through the clutter and noise. If you offer value to your community they will want to support you and you do them a disservice if you don’t show them all the ways to support you. If you want to help other people don’t rob those same people of the opportunity to give you value as well.

I’m just looking for a balance.. so I can engage in it properly
