nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h what’s nostr:npub1lrnvvs6z78s9yjqxxr38uyqkmn34lsaxznnqgd877j4z2qej3j5s09qnw5 zap split royalty?

This could be a world first innovation for artists and art galleries such as Pubkey.

🤯

“Mom, I got my first meme royalties.” 🥲🤣

This is going to require some standardization since clients don’t all support this feature.

What's meme royalties? a zap split? With NIP-96 we can search by the hash of pictures and pay the normal zap split in the original post. Is that it?

Yes - zap split/other mechanism designed to reward the meme creator.

The thought was sparked by Pubkey’s corndalorian framed meme.

Corndalorian can be zapped by someone in person. Maybe the physical space/pubkey gets a portion as well. Some mechanism leads to a nostr discussion of the OP.

Specifically on NIP-96 - is there consensus, or criticism of this approach?

Many clients support NIP 96. It's just a standard way to upload images/videos based on the hash of the content. Nostr.build and nostrcheck.me also support it.

Then, to make this work, we create a NIP94 to define the owner of the image and add the appropriate zap split as defined in NIP 57. When people reuse the image, we can search for the NIP-94, get the zap split and pay the owner directly.

I love this line of thinking 🔥🔥🔥

🤣 solid ⚡️🧡💯

Yesss that’s the one 👏👏
