Peaceful towards one another, violent towards governments.. perhaps

There is a time and place for violence, but in my opinion any physical force oriented towards punishment is bound to backfire.

Physical force oriented towards ending violence is justified. It's a fine line and very difficult to judge in any general way.

I would also say that trying to out-violence the government is unlikely to achieved the desired goal.

Maybe the goal is to go out in a way that wakes others up. Idk

If you knew sacrificing yourself would liberate the planet that's an embodiment of Christ if I ever heard it.

I'm doubtful that violence would necessarily support that process.
