Worse: Aspirational platitudes from a bygone era that no longer apply in practical reality that we, the members of the bar, pretend undergird the profession.
Here they do apply. They steam roll all situations to fit the shoe that doesn't fit. You will fit that shoe! You must!
My industry is the same, and I bet it's like that in a lot of sectors. Too much bureaucracy everywhere, and too many 20th century thinking for the 21st century. We need more visionaries.
Opposing counsel on one of my cases refers to himself as a visionary on his website. So….
Fuck these people. They won't retire either...
