I have a serious question for the vegans out there:

What are your thoughts on breastfeeding? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just very curious as to what logic you have in favor of or not in favor of breastfeeding your child.

Noshole’s device would be perfect for this 🤭

Was vegan for 10 years with the exception of breast milk and honey 😂 my pregnant friend let me try a little 🤷‍♀️

I meant the device we were joking about earlier. To bond with the doggos 😂

Oh shit I forgot lol

My impression (as a devoted steak consumer, mind) is that “vegan moralism” is more about using animal products without the creatures’ consent, rather than just an aversion to consuming matter from the animal kingdom. (After all, the more we learn about fungus and plants, the more “conscious” they appear to be). Anyway I’d assume that voluntary breastfeeding doesn’t break that rule…

Interesting points.

As far as I know, as long as they're breastfeeding another vegan, it's ok.

But, by definition, the child cannot be vegan if they are consuming milk. 🤔

I had a vegan friend who are her own placenta post birth. She said it was because she needed the iron and it's part of her body anyway 🤢

No way? Really? Kinda really strange? Did she say if it was yummy?

She said she felt a boost of energy so I guess it was helpful. She ate some fresh and powdered the rest to add to smoothies.

Very very interesting

Its pretty common to freeze chunks of the placenta in the homebirth world- for smoothies later.

The midwife's assistant did it for us without even asking last birth

Dude. She just ate HER OWN? I’ve contemplated ordering other people’s dried up placentas in pills just for funsies. That and colostrum 😂

You mean I could have been up some sats? Dang

Fuck yeah you could have

That's more common in certain cultures, from what I understand.

My initial reaction to hearing that is "Ew!"

But... Waste not, want not.

My wife has breast-fed all three children we've had so far. They are 1, 3, and 5 now, and they are thriving.

As to reasons -- it is obviously what Nature intended, and our experience tends to confirm that.

Cool!

But is she vegan?

Yes, we're both vegan.

Thank you.

are you trying to understand vegans or breastfeeding?

these things are not related.

They are related. 🙄

Cuál sería la relación entre esas dos cosas ; le preguntaste lo mismo a alguien no vegano alguna vez ?
