With that being said, there will be those who seek out sensationalism and will reward those who provide it (through zaps). I don’t think nostr will stop that, but it will be easier for one to avoid it in nostr if that’s not what their into.

Yea some people like that, it’s true. I just don’t think the [current] design of Nostr is conducive to it spreading like it does on 𝕏.
The big difference being that here it’s people rewarding people for providing them value directly. On 𝕏 it’s the platform rewarding certain people for providing engagement that benefits the platform.
Yes, but it will not stop the propagation of sensationalism just because people are being reward from millions of individuals vs a platform.
I’m skeptical that it will propagate in the same manner, or to the same degree. Maybe I’m wrong. It will be interesting to observe how those dynamics evolve here in the absence of central control.
