I'm starting to develop a zapping system.

First off, I don't ever use the global feed. On my personal feed their are people whose interactions I find valuable. I also follow a few hashtags to find more interesting people.

This way I can massage my experience the way I want it. No more obligatory "follows". We don't follow others, we walk side by side.

My personal feed and interactions tab are my Nostr experience and I really enjoy it.

As far as zapping, I zap posts that interest me. My default zap amount settled on 15 sats. Why? No idea.

This algorithm is completely subjective. The difference is I am the algo.

This is way too long. Some people are such elegant writers. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.

I like it. I'll venture into the global feed to search hashtags find like minded people to follow, but I'm mostly just looking at my personal feed as well.

On Amathyst, you can follow hashtags that will show up on your personal feed as well.

I feel we are very early to the Nostr protocol and it can be so much more than anything that is available now as far as social interaction.

Well said, especially the part regarding the algo and follows. Like you, I spend most of my time on my personal feed and just use hashtags to find more like-minded people who share my interests.

I found their is a lot of things you have to unlearn that legacy social media has conditioned into us especially when you 1st join. At the end of the day value will always be found, it's just a matter of when and where, imo.

I think what you described in your post encapsulates why #nostr is so comfy, the other is the community.
