My chickens in the brooder are starting to get feathers, so the race is on to get my chicken coop finished.

I repurposed an old 4x6 shed. I reskinned it with plywood, and cut in a door for retrieving eggs. I also made the nesting box walls hinged for easy cleaning.

I made it so the front door opens completely for easy cleaning. Also it has a smaller chicken door that slides up and down.

I took a power window mechanism out of an old car and made it so it can raise and lower the chicken door with a solar panel and a 12v battery.

I plan to make it automated with a raspberry pi zero. With a manual override. I still need to get all the components and design everything but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Zone 4 is looking pretty good. After clearing the brush and trees out the area I overseeded it with crimson clover and vetches to help control erosion. Bees are everywhere!

I'm starting to develop a zapping system.

First off, I don't ever use the global feed. On my personal feed their are people whose interactions I find valuable. I also follow a few hashtags to find more interesting people.

This way I can massage my experience the way I want it. No more obligatory "follows". We don't follow others, we walk side by side.

My personal feed and interactions tab are my Nostr experience and I really enjoy it.

As far as zapping, I zap posts that interest me. My default zap amount settled on 15 sats. Why? No idea.

This algorithm is completely subjective. The difference is I am the algo.

This is way too long. Some people are such elegant writers. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.

Rabbits love comfrey! I have been growing comfrey for 3 years now and it is one of my favorite fodder plants. I give it to my rabbits about every 3 days. It does great growing around the base of fodder trees.

When joints ache, I reach for Dr. Christopher's.

I wore heels for half an hour Thursday, and now my right ankle and left knee are all achy and sore. This is what happens when you're closing in on 40, carry around a 25lb 8 month old, go barefoot all the time, and then put on heels for an event. Also...high heels are just not good in general.

I need to find some nice looking barefoot shoes for weddings and funerals.

Seed collecting tip, especially for small seeds from fruits (Tomatoes, Tomatillo etc)

I scrape out the seeds with the tip of a knife and wipe them on a tissue. They stick on and the paper dries them out. I then just tear off a piece of paper with a seed on it to plant.

Here I'm collecting Tomatillo and Eggplant.
