I think things are going to get worse before they get better. Read the tea leaves, gas vehicle owners will be punished worse and worse even if your favorite politician gets elected. Don't depend on the electric grid either, hedge against inflation with debt by financing solar. I've coyote swapped a mustang, I've spent a year racing at autocross, I've rebuild the heads of a 3000gt in a parking lot, I enjoy formula 1 and rally, I like cars too, but to all the people saying "what happens when the grid goes down?", ask yourself if the gas stations will still be working.
