I have a problem with people making accusations without any evidence to back it up. Sure be skeptical, but if you are going to accuse somebody of something, you better have some hard proof of it. I don’t care who you are.

I think there is a balance between the two perspectives, but you have a point.
On one side, when claims are really absurd, it's probably a better strategy to assume dishonesty until they prove their claim. A ton of NO RISK 20% WEEKLY INTEREST CRYPTO REVOLUTION! bullshit immediately comes to mind.
But in this case, the claims aren't even really in the sphere of things that are problematic in that way. It's not like they will have a 100,000 customers flood to their service because they are exaggerating investment numbers that only a small group are following or are concerned about.
So i think its both not great to make serious accusations without hard evidence, but simultaneously really good to challenge bold claims. I think nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx is actually pretty careful not to directly accuse them, but simply is being very explicit about his skepticism and lack of information to temper it.
(i didn't watch any more of the episode so don't know if there is more said on the issue)
I agree with you, we always have to challenge the ideas of others, and point out inconsistencies, so that we can make informed and individual judgements for ourselves, on the evidence that is presented.
But, in this case there hasn’t been any evidence to support these claims, other than a feeling.
People seem to believe things said by certain individuals because they have been right about things in the past. Ironically these are the same people who slag influencers.
I guess I’m looking at this situation from the outside, as someone who has never had any social media before nostr, so I don’t have any reason to trust anyone.
I’ve only heard of these people since joining nostr last year, and based on what I have read here, I have not been given any reason to trust either party 🤷♂️.
