TBH, I don’t know the difference between a Zap and a tip. It’s been a long week, was supposed to be over at 3, but the saga continues.

I can click the lightning bolt on a note and send sats with Zeus.

But I don’t think I have ever been zapped? I get no notifications and cannot see how many sats a particular note has been zapped, for myself or others.

I use getalby to receive and Zeus to send.

No idea what NIP-57 is. I can spend a few hours reading tonight, but if somebody would be kind enough to enlighten me or point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

I think zap is a button they’re adding so you can tip without going to the profile. So there will be like, comment, retweet, and zap. Only some users have it as far as I can tell. At least that’s my current understanding.

If you have a zaps button(lightning symbol) on notes but no amounts showing then you don't have a configured wallet for zaps but you can still tip using the lightning symbol.

That seems to be the case. I have no problem clicking the bolt and “zapping,” but it doesn’t show amount. Sats incoming 🫂
