I would agree. Activity has declined a lot since then. It started a downturn maybe 6 months ago.
i really started feeling it around last year's autumn

We also had the whole honeymoon phase going on, too. We're all a little less active as this phase wears off. We need a true next wave, not a tickle.

That is a good point, though. I'm less apt to be chatty lately. The broader topics get stuck on repeat sometimes.

Those were the days. Way more polished now but less momentum and less quirk. The spontaneous zapathons and protocol wide memes have been nonexistent recently.

feel like some of the folks staying around are just here because they consider this small bunch of peeps their remote niche family, that can understand quirky topics
and some of the folks are just reminiscent of the initial high they felt discovering the protocol, community and so forth
Things move in waves, not a straight line, but I'll admit that I haven't been thinking about the grand visions of a nostr powered future very much recently.
This will probably remain a niche community with a certain set of interests unless we can solve some structural issues and catch a lucky break. The game theory of social networks is not as straight forward as it is with money.
But with that said, I still use nostr for 90% of my online interactions and am not an active poster anywhere else. Bitcoiners are a stubborn bunch and this platform serves me very well for the type of social media experience I'm looking for.
