Long-term storage of knowledge and resources. Obsidian is just a good UI for the file and folder-based organization.
Great question
Out of all the tools out there, this one
- aligns with my desire for self-owned and reusable data
- is lightning fast compared to alternatives (logseq was unusable for me)
- lets me find project, person, and idea-related notes I made with relative ease
I work on probably a dozen projects at once, so I'd lose my mind keeping it all in my head
It's by no means perfect. It's just pretty damn good.
I use it for school assignments. Easy to format reports with LaTeX.
Never have to use MS word is huge.
Ooo I'm going to bookmark this because I've seen people raving but i don't think I'm using it right so i don't get it
