This church took 632 years to build.
Heinrich Heine explained: "Men in those days had convictions; we moderns have opinions. And it needs more than opinions to build a Gothic cathedral."
Bitcoin is our cathedral.

Bitcoin is our cathedral.
I have visited it. It's impressive to say the least.
Lifting an image or a meme is one thing, lifting a post wholecloth here on #nostr with zaps on the line is weak sauce
Bitcoin is our cathedral and I think it will orient us towards building other cathedrals as well.
I wrote an essay about how Bitcoin incentivizes action toward long term goals from a cognitive science/philosophical standpoint, if anyone would care for a Saturday read.

I never thought of Bitcoin as a multi lifetime project of humanity
It’s multi-generational by default. None of us will be alive to see the last sat get mined.
Kolne Dom......the greatest building I've ever been in!!
have you been to visit?

No but I really want to.

amazing photos 🤯
If you have the chance take the roof tour.
I spent time in Stephansdom in Vienna one summer. Breathtaking and awesome inspiring.
Can confirm that place is beautiful. The three wise men are buried there (allegedly).
Society must not be afraid to dream a little bigger
Well if social credit will win then...
I don't think it's even finished yet.
just imagine the Spanish boomers telling their grandkids about their 600+ year dynastic job security
Our builders quoted a simmilar timeline
A building is never finished. The question is if the people are satisfied with a current status of being. Are they willing to restructure to a potential view. It’s a complex human effort with broad consensus. Bitcoin is far more complex and important than a cathedral. And just like the cathedral will never be “finished”.
The question is how we got to this common effort. And that has come through a common belief. How do we bring a common belief or view into physical reality. That’s something we could learn from the church in general. Shock and awe from generations of proof of work. Leading by example in broad planetary competition.
Also a warning not to abuse peoples convictions as the Roman catholic church did and is still doing. Or even more important:
Never forget that your convictions can be abused.
