Okay, I’m officially frustrated. Should probably vlogstr about this.

Here I am — again — trying to publish my first long-form piece on Nostr after the last failed attempt weeks ago. This time on Primal, two browsers open… and still, I can’t upload my image, save a draft, or publish.

Why is it easier to move unbanked cash through the Emerald Triangle than to post a story here?

If it’s this hard for me, how will everyday people — the ones we say this tech is for — ever adopt it?

Millions are flowing into this space. Can we please make it work for storytellers, creatives, and regular humans… not just hardcore devs and protocol nerds?

Right now it feels like you’re building in a bubble, high-fiving over closed-loop tech stacks while the rest of us can’t even get a story posted. If this is truly for the world, then make it usable for the world.

Why not have somebody who knows what they're doing post on your behalf?

I'd be happy to take a Markdown file of what you were trying to write, and then post it as a long-form read, then linking to you. I did that one time for a new user, and she was pretty impressed with what I was able to do (just some re-formatting was what I did in Obsidian).

I can discuss this further in DM's, and maybe how I'd want it sent (so both of us can protect the metadata that could leak).

Appreciate the offer, but that kinda defeats the purpose of Nostr.

If you post it, it’s signed with your key, not mine — meaning it’s not actually my post on the protocol.

The whole point is to be able to publish under my own identity without intermediaries.

If I can’t do that, it’s not a “me” problem… it’s a fundamental UX and reliability problem the ecosystem needs to fix.

I can see the concerns you have with that.

To compromise, I'd be happy to send over an Obsidian vault pre-made with Nostr Reader and maybe a couple other things installed as community plugins. All you'd need is Obsidian installed (the latest version will do), and I can send the vault over using something like Wormhole.

Why can’t I just post an article? If the functionality exists, why doesn’t it work?

People don’t have patience for broken tools.

I’ve been a Nostr user for 20 months and I still can’t post a damn article. That’s not on me. That’s on the ecosystem.

I just downloaded their app once again. I am stuck on login. Amber doesn't seem to work. Adding my npub does it seem to make login button function either. I don't want to put my nsec in an app I don't trust. I have amber. It works with other apps. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Same shit when olas launched a half a year ago. I had excitement and would have happily help build momentum had I been able to just get the login button to work after two weeks of consistent attempts and checking for their updated versions.

Maybe it's some settings I am not aware on my graphene os. But it seems this should be built to work seamlessly with other freedom tech.

Hi Sedd, maybe I am not sure how to properly login with Amber. I have multiple clients I have logged into with it. Most recently just a couple or so days ago was Fountain and it seemed quite automatic. Could you please first instruct me on what is supposed to happen and what should I do when I click on Use Amber from the Login screen? Right now it just opens Amber. I can click on the + icon and add a new application Yakihonne. But unsure which option is correct here. Doesn't seems like the first two make sense with what I see available on yakihonne. If I click add nsecbunker (which I think I've used with other apps) I don't know what to put on the wss field and what to do with that afterwards. It didn't seem anything happened when I did add Yakihonne yesterday with empty wss://

Okay, so the process might be confusing a little bit, so i made a video demonstrating the process of connecting to your amber account in YakiHonne. Firstly, you can start by creating or importing your secret key in Amber, once you are done with that. You just head to the login page in YakiHonne, you will find Amber button, it only appears if you have Amber installed of course. You click on it and you will be be prompted to add a connection in Amber, you approve that and Voila.

my most recent longform note was published with yakihonne via desktop.

though i usually write in the obsidian desktop program and copy over before publishing because it takes me awhile to write out and edit.
