Pretty sure I remember seeing a Tucson Bitcoin group on Meetup.
There is I think, or least there was. This is more focused down in coshise county.
I'm not sure how far that is (I'm in Vegas) but I know in smaller areas it is very difficult to have multiple groups unless you're good with them being relatively smaller. I'd recommend maybe trying to join forces and then even posting "satellite" events under their main account provided it is still active. That way, you guys can also pool membership ranks.

Nice. I have been to that group once or twice. And I went on the plebchain radio show once I think. This group is going to be focused in southern AZ in Cochise county mainly. Thanks for helping get the word out.

What they recommend is its important is to be consistent: e.g. first ___day of the month in location Z.
Keep spreading the signal locally and more folks will join.
Are you on stacker news yet? Lots of smart bitcoiners and pure signal there. Easy to stack sats also.
