what happened to nayib

To be fair. He bought a lot of bitcoin, but it costs money to run a country and buy bitcoin at the same time. And if he's not selling the corn. What else is he supposed to do?
be self sovereign?
Well, I mean. The country wasn't exactly doing that great. And he already had a loan. So he just can't change course just because he loves bitcoin. I would love him to though. Just being realistic
Then wouldn’t this logic apply to us too? I think we can and we should change course, otherwise bitcoin will keep getting more and more sequestered by stable coins and centralization fiends
Fo sho. But I still have a loan at the bank. And I would roll over my Debt if it made financial sense.
Even though i would think that bitcoin would go to 100.000 million usd.
I would still need to live somewhere with my family in the society I was born into.
Sure I could leave and live in the woods and have nothing to do with the banks.
But this is something people without kids say.
It will change over time for sure. But I think it will take a long time.
Bukele owes us nothing. I think he has done very good. And I wish him and his people the best !
If you have kids and haven't put the effort in making your community and merchants within your community adopt BTC or XMR you are doing it wrong.
Things only change when some courageous individuals bring upon the change they want to see.
Probably harder as a country than as an individual
🤷
he is borrowing more money to buy more bitcoin
All IMF loans have strict criteria on how the money can be spent, and on the governments economic policy as a whole. I doubt what you say is the case.
maybe not, but i seem to remember he upped his bitcoin buying a few days after the last loan came through.
Loan approvals take months. It was just voted on thus or last week by the board at the IMF, then the agreements have to be signed by all parties. Effective date of IMF takeover is likely also to take place over next 6+ months
Bowed before the fiat gods
Bent the knee it seems
Statists gonna state
Was given the option to stay alive and probably chose that
Imagine being someone who bought a 1million passport to "bitcoin country".
The chivo wallet is being downplayed, but I know firsthand (we are invested there) it will have a huge impact on all
How locals accept and convert bitcoin.
Any public appearances from max and Stacey lately???
The lesson: never fanboi anyone.
From the IMF:
"Going forward, program commitments will confine government engagement in Bitcoin-related economic activities, as well as government transactions in and purchases of Bitcoin," was stated in a blog post.
The IMF is just starting with el Salvador and bitcoin. WTF is bukele doing
The lesson for nation states to take from this is: If you adopt bitcoin as legal tender then the IMF will be there in a flash with a sweet loan deal to change your mind.
Cucked?
short term incentives, couldn't wait for bitcoin to do it's things wanted money now in exchange for having to suck some IMF dick
