web apps are useful tools but also operating systems that prohibit installing apps without permission should be discouraged
Discussion
💯 The idea of your desktop OS blocking you from installing an app is absurd, yet for some reason its acceptable on phones.
Thats because the boat was missed on that and desktops came out early enough that it wasn’t feasible.
If they could, they’d make the general purpose just as locked down…and not general purpose.
Too late to do that though. Consumers wouldn’t accept that and it would impede business use.
💯
That's a lot of food for thought
slowest rug pull ever
This is why the idea of an “app store” was always a bad concept.
just get rid of all closed source shit
Web apps also have a very large attack surface.
I feel like a blue checker for moving from android to ios this year
Why would I discourage an OS that prevents apps installing without permission?
I explicitly use an OS for my one server that cant even install or run apps. No viruses or spyware possible.
No, let's just all use the Apple slave goggles.
And also watch a video of a beautifully made steak on it while snacking our bug mix (with smokey bbq flavor) in our 10 square foot pod.
It should be illegal
