People who think software development is just coding -- and not engineering and science and maths and marketing and design and testing -- are about to get a very rude awakening.

And I'm so there for it. 😎 Welcome to Nostr 2024.

Good morning 🫂

Good morning. 😎💚💪🏻🎉🫂👍😁

So stoked, man, fr.

Sadly, there may not be any rude awakening as they get plenty of money to stay under the illusion. I have even witnessed theft. I have seen devs in Ethereum drag their feet for years getting $20k a month not delivering any meaningful product to the point where everyone with any dignity, morals and brain leaves early, and the remaining ones steal the pot and delete social channels. Getting VC money you need to build a business, but with crypto money falling from the sky things are really loose, and anyone who isn't a dev is ignored.

That's okay. We have our own project and we're self-funded and we build the stuff we want to use ourselves.

I wish it were. I am so bad at the engineering and scheduling parts. I just want someone to ask me for elegant algorithms all day.

Are you a mathematician?

Why yes, sort of. I have a double major engineering and mathematical sciences. But I most of my meager professional career has been programming. Raising kids professionally doesn't involve nearly enough differential equations.

Oh man, that is fantastic. Can I DM you?

Believe it or not, we actually really need a mathematician. 😂 Like, right now.

Is this about the papers? 🤣

Not only, but also. 😂

I think we generally need another reviewer for models and algorithms.

Ahh got it!

DM away. Be warned, my bachelors was half a lifetime ago. Everything I learned has oxidized.

I never learned it, so you're still ahead.

It's... literally Greek... letters. 😂

𝝉 being the best one right!

😊

We're starting a manual testing round, probably next week, for Alexandria. Wanna join?

Funny because I'm pretty bad at complex architecture, I'd rather read a spec I trust and spend many 100s of hours implementing it :)

I only program under duress.
