How do I get back the default "heart" emoji (or Like icon) on #Amethyst ? It's gone and all I could find are the fancy ones with gradient after reinstalling. #asknostr

Just keep in mind the + is not a like. Many other clients use it as an UP Vote ⬆️. Adding an up vote without also adding the DOWN vote might break their stats. that's why we are not using it anymore.

Like I said in our call, every NIP is wrong. :)
I have had long discussions about this +/- encoding and I concluded that it is better to not interfere with UP/Down vote clients.
Otherwise, the weight of Amethyst in their stats breaks everything.
+ is definitely a like & upvote
The two should have never been the same encode. They are not the same reaction. Clients do not use them in the same way. Semantics are all different.

Sure, a spec is a spec. But the same spec also allow any other reaction, which I prefer to focus at. In that way, those debating if + should be a like or an upvote can sort themselves out without our interference.
