Been away for a while learning nixos full time…

Before nostrica, people were optimistic and the environment was mostly peaceful despite some minor discussions about how to make the protocol evolve… seemed healthy at the time.

Fast forward today, should I understand that we’re heading into some kind of fork?

Nostr is just really NIP-01, everything else is an optional extra. It's too simple to fork, unelss you want to completely change the concept e.g. from json to binary with new keys, like renostr

🤝

this is very inspiring… feels like I’m overcomplicating things a bit.

starting to think of outside-of-the-box use cases for nostr, and what’s slowing me down is thinking about which kinds I got to reuse.

maybe the best would be to just create new ones… and figure out if something is reusable over time and migrate to it before going to production.

No fork, people just need to chill

nah

it's all good. good time invested learning nixos; did you build something with it?

migrating all my infra to it... which takes a bit of time off my nostr dev contributions… but looking forward to make nostr contributions very easy to use in nix through flakes.

Everyone seems to absolutely love nixos, I should probably take some time and look into it

Lol 😂 so the topic of this thread is unexpected switch!

Thank you!

I use it on all my linux machines and servers. There is no second best.

yeah, nixos is awesome

learning it is a long journey but it's totally worth it. this knowledge is almost as valuable as bitcoin and nostr themselves
