IMO nostr needs

A) more clients set up like signal in terms of structure and nonprofit status - not reliant on profit seeking which is hard on nostr anyway, but focused on donations and privacy/freedom (honestly nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 seems perfect for this set up)

B) wayyyyyy more funding - at client level to grow and through nostr funds

We shouldn’t be ok with nostr at several thousand daily users. It should be millions and we’re pushing on year 3 of many of us being here.

Most people still don’t understand why Nostr is important, if they’ve even heard of it at all.

Where do you see more funding coming from, if seeking a profit is not the goal?

It’s tough, I’m not extremely well versed in signal but they emphasized freedom and their need to exist and set up a foundation and generate a lot of revenue from grants and donations while not compromising on privacy and freedom tech.

I see many nostr clients similarly - freedom apps, that could be run as a foundation like signal (not that nostr needs a foundation, but client specific)

There are many clients either not offering enough features that make them unique, or not available cross-platform, and they are all pretty much early-stage works in progress. I’m also not entirely sure where this funding is supposed to come from.

Without advertising, and for many clients use-cases, I’m not sure why we don’t see more signal-like org setups for clients.

Or a pay-to-play model but I still don’t think that covers operating expenses at scale (only premium features for subscribers maybe, but not baseline costs)

Funding for bitcoin-focused development is still lacking, especially compared to shitcoin dev funding. STILL. Nostr is gonna take time too.
