I dont eat hummus very often, but i make my own mayo for the same reasons.
It's not easy being a label reader π
I do, but has been awhile.

Do you go through the trouble of washing the skins off?
Absolutely. I cook the beans with a little baking soda and that makes the skins slip off.... Then I reserve a little cookie water to add to hummus... Makes it really creamy π

My trick for ultra creamy β¦ is to increase the ratio of tahini to beans β¦ and plenty of lemon!!!
