Saw a bitcoin machine at the mall last night. Kid behond me asks his dad what bitcoin it. Dad says "it's a digital thing people buy hoping the price will go up. It's like buying trading cards."

I almost turned around and told the kid that was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard anyone say about money, but I don't want the kid to lose faith in his dad while he's young. Especially when it's bound to happen later.

That's an interesting scenario. There is a middle way there where you can engage in conversation and not directly disagree with the guy.

I don't remember where I learned about it, but the Japanese have a very clever and subtle way of challenging people's assumptions that's more inquisitive than confrontational. Thinking that way has helped me a lot with orange pilling.

But I'm not Japanese.
