Open from the beginning = community engagement/dev engagement = more building and experimentation/tinkering = an avalanche of a network effect
Why do you like Bluesky? The protocol is super complex, and what all that complexity achieves?
tbh they sound like every other โweb2โ closed source app, except they published blog posts about their protocols.

Nostr is a decentralized platform. Unfortunately Jack can't help you, although I'm sure he would if he could. Go to profile > edit and change your username there. Your keys are unique, not your username.

You can make this whatever you want by editing your profile Aaron@Aaron etc.
The @nostrplebs.com for example (or another) address is an easy way for you to share your nostr address without having to use your entire npub public key.
Some services like @nostrplebs.com offer this service for a fee which includes their paid relay service and more
Other people will give you one for free or donation like the peraon I recommended #[12]
