I think lightning and nostr proved a very important concept that may have gone overlooked.

Using completely open protocols and freedom incentives, you all donated over 3.5m sats to me with one ask. This is actually a serious amount of money. No VCs, no boards, no strings. And we are still very small.

I hope this signals to other developers to take a chance and build on these protocols. The community highly values this kind of work.

I am extremely humbled by the outpouring of support, it did make me a bit emotional if I'm being honest. It's highly motivating to keep building, and it basically proves that nostr and lightning is definitely gonna make it.

It’s about the interaction (online/ offline) and the events are a big help. From the Nostr events to local meet-ups.

Share your craft, and try to collab with others. Its better to grow together. (Because you can’t do everything and also know what you can’t )

I would suggest to post daily your craft on Nostr (creating is what you already love to do so no problem to post about it)

Meet the people you interact with in real life and cool things will happen.

But most important, do what you love, once you do this you can’t stop doing it and this energy will attract like minded people and the β€˜money’ will follow.

But it’s all about Proof Of Work. Without battles and hard work nothing will work out. Keep standing up and believe in yourself. Don’t look to much to others their path, only get inspired by others πŸ™

I want to join the zapping. As somewhat a creator with some tech knowledge, can someone point me to up-to-date resources to set up lightning and zaps via an Umbrel Bitcoin node please? (I know, I preferred Start9 but for now Umbrel will do)

I found some stuff online of course but I trust this community more.

Agree that we have something big developing here, but $3k is a small amount to fund a dev. Like 1 month of living? Your case is also looks exceptional. It's not happening on regular basis so it's hard to rely on it. We have a lot of room to grow.

I think the solution is for devs to monetize nostr apps in some form (or add donate option). The fact that many people have a wallet connected and it takes one click to pay is the game changer.
