I’m not sure of the exact number of months but I believe it was less than a year.
Right around there! 13 months!

And the project continued even though the Great Depression hit.
And it didn’t make money back until at least the late 40’s or early 50’s if memory serves.
Yep, fun thought experiment to think about how long it’d take today.
From breaking ground to topping off, I’d say 2-ish years. To me it’s not so much the speed, which to be sure was impressive, but the materials.
The quarried stones—granite and marble—are simply top notch and exquisite in their overall design.
Building materials these days reminds one often that, they don’t make ‘em like they used to.
The height of the Art Deco period for sure, along with the Chrysler.
