Once I had to take a group of 12 kids on a 3 day canoe trip in a national forest in Maine. On day two we came around a bend and I saw what was ahead and told the kids to be silent and go through the middle and don’t move. We had come around the bend to see 3 giant moose drinking water in the river. We passed right between them, less than 10ft from each. Silently floated by. Terrifying. I still think about it.
