I try not to fear but a moose is terrifying
Once I had to take a group of 12 kids on a 3 day canoe trip in a national forest in Maine. On day two we came around a bend and I saw what was ahead and told the kids to be silent and go through the middle and don’t move. We had come around the bend to see 3 giant moose drinking water in the river. We passed right between them, less than 10ft from each. Silently floated by. Terrifying. I still think about it. If any of the kids had giggled or splashed or thrown something or startled them…

Did you know that moose can dive 15 feet underwater to eat stuff that grows on the bottom of the lake and somehow was able to do that without drowning? I just literally learned this today.
