Don’t ask where you can help

Don’t wait until x condition is met

Just find a thing you’re not happy about and create a solution.

Ignorance is sometimes useful. It sets aside the limitations of tech and allows for intuitive solutions. Even if not technically feasible they can inform development.

Stay humble in the process, you don’t know what’s been tried already. But, also speak up. Sometimes even the best way to do something is not obvious to people working on it - it’s hard to always think clearly with the mindset of beginner / fresh perspective.
