(Of course it would be good to do UX research to confirm my suspicion)

We are already planning to it yeah lol and we are very open most definitely 🙏Perhaps we gonna do a voting plan and check all suggestions. Maybe we can open a github issue and let the naming contest begin haha

I vote Yakihonstr

(no I don't)

Even "Yaki" would be better. 🙂

I’ll toss this one out there. I had proposed it a year ago as a new name for Nostr, but nothing came of it so I’m offering it up to nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q instead.

*Nostur

#typostr

"Vomiter"? 😀 (Adam Back just accidentally came up with that and imo it has a ring to it 😅)

LMAO, I can picture this.

Bro, let's be real. It's unnecessary

Reeks weakness just because some English speakers can't pronounce the name 😮‍💨

But, if somehow you guys still wanna change it

I propose Teh Tarik ☕

😬

Kopi AIS 🫡 hahaha

Boleh juga 🤣

No offense, I really hate this thinking.

Yakihonne would be making a huge mistake to change the name to chase English speaking audience just because of a name.

I feel disgusted that such a suggestion unleashed rabble to also join on changing something identity because they don’t like it.

Really disappointed.

And maybe you are correct.

That said it's not unusual for brands to use a different name in a different country. Burger King is "Hungry Jack's" in Australia, Lay's is "Walkers" in UK, Opel is "Vauxhall" in the UK, Bud Light is "yellow piss" everywhere outside of the US...

If they change it because they want to compete there and really don’t want to focus on Asian market, sure. But it would be a decision based on strategy, not just because we don’t like the name.

But I believe in blue ocean. Why come and compete in the red ocean.

If it was me I would lean even harder on Asia.

Below they mentioned that this has already been considered and in progress.

Totally unnecessary! English language bias is a sign of cognitive decline, not a marketing win. Very fiat thinking.
