Primal

i heard there is KYC for that no?

If you enter legit information, yes.

Wallet for Satoshi hands down.

he is in Canada which supposedly is supported with no restrictuions but it is giving him a Not supported region error.

I am in Canada too and have no issues with WOS but im on android...

wierd..

Works for me on Android in Canada no issue. Wife has it on iOS without issue too. We use VPN when we see the regional issue and it goes away

I find Zeus wallet to be powerful yet easy to use...no problem for a beginner. I linked it to Alby Hub on startOS and self custody my satoshi's here at the house..

thats a bit much for a 13 year old who is on day 2 of knowing anything about Bitcoin... But I do love zeus and do the same as you! 😃

LOL....agreed Cryptowolf.. my situation is about as complex as it can get, but as @The Daniel stated above. If you already use Alby hub you can find the friends and family app and do the custody for him.... You can link his wallet, if you chose Alby Go for instance, which is super basic, total starter wallet, he could spend and zap as well as most importantly stack sats.... I get caught up in self custody, but keeping it in the family is just as good for a person his age....plus you can set a monthly spend budget for each friend or family member...I always feel teaching the importance of self custody at the beginning of the journey helps amplify the significance of not your keys not your coins. Peace.

You can always Uncle Jim them from your Alby Hub and set them up on Alby Go.

region restricted in Canada, even though Canada is supposed to be on their list of approved regions...wierd

...yeh I don't get it either... I've no issues with VPNs with small sats

Don’t onboard them to KYC wallets, obviously. Start with Phoenix. You can’t get a Lightning address there, but for that you can show them Zeus or Minibits and explain how Lightning and Cashu work together.

Coinos is super easy. Or Minibits. Not self custody, but super easy for beginners.

WoS

Wallet of Satoshi is my first option for beginners.

Getting a region error when we are not supposed to. Canada.

Wallet of satoshi prolly

Region error

Start with Wallet of Satoshi — it’s the easiest, smoothest onboarding for a teen. You can always graduate to Phoenix later for more control.

Region error even though there shouldn't be

So Breez and Phoenix are the best options because they are very simple and hassle-free.

Breez is amazing. Haven’t used Phoenix as much but I like it too.

🧡🫵🏽

Whatch out for fees on Phoenix. If it’s a youngster with only a few days that might shock them a bit.

Although they’d also learn in the process…

Not a true lightning wallet but Aqua is pretty easy or Muun

True lightning then WOS probably is super easy and smooth

speed & WoS walletofsatoshi

Wos didn't work on my friends sons iPhone 7. Said region restricted even though he is in Canada where they don't ban apps. Weird.

I never owned an Apple product and just wanted to help.

I'm starting to believe that apple users are unsavable and they might as well just fiat and kyc for everything.

Android ain't perfect tbut itbcam be made to be perfect. And even stock android atlesst you can install whatever you want without crazy work arounds and hacks lol
