Boundary-setting is such a critical skill. It has taken me too long to recognize its importance.
It feels more like buying your time & will & energy. It doesn't return to you after the transaction is done.
Iโm definitely more aware of this as AI is getting better. Iโm just doing a robotโs job because the robot isnโt smart enough yet.
it's just a modernity thing. most aspects of human needs are almost entirely automated, but we still need structures to organize societies around and keep advancing. that's why so many people feel like their work is meaningless since it's mostly around producing higher order things to consume - because people also really like to consume
