Unqualified nutrition nerd. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Peanuts do seem to have a higher tendency of absorbing/developing some bad compounds compared to other nuts (although peanuts are technically legumes ๐Ÿ™„) but the benefits seem to outweigh the side effects. Pay attention to how you feel, donโ€™t eat too much of it and youโ€™ll be great. Variety is much more valuable for your microbial than splitting hairs about real, whole food.

this is some really awesome insight and thoughts ๐Ÿ’œ

never even heard of the word legumes before ๐Ÿค”

Great points but also peanut butter (which originally sparked the discussion) isnโ€™t a whole food; the added oils and sugars at least are definitely not good

the one i had said no sugar and no palm oil on it

Well thatโ€™s a different ball game ๐Ÿ‘

Those are definitely not worth discussing. I was referring to 100% pure peanut butter. Nothing added. Blended whole food? ๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™d still balk at the PUFAs but yeah thatโ€™s a LOT betterโ€ฆ hard to find on US shelves though, most is absolute crap

Crazy Richard's Peanut Butter is our go-to. Rather easy to find, too. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

have you ever made some peanut butter yourself? ๐Ÿค”

No, not worth the cost and effort for me when itโ€™s so easy to find in high quality. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

hmm, good point ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค—

Variety, whole foods ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ‘
