I suppose it boils down to whether #v4v can be successful without gamification and I agree exchanges of value should hold up without it. It might just be that proponents of said gamification are trying to accelerate the timeline and increase the user base. I can see how that could be a turn off though.

#nostr being open, I ultimately think that everyone will find their market fit regarding the implementation of #zaps and #v4v. Private and anonymous zaps already address some of the issues to some extent.
