Yeah I do agree zaps are pure signal, whereas follower count may not be. But similar to the push for #onlyzaps - I think there’s still a lot of value in collaborative exchange that doesn’t rely on sending someone money. And let’s also consider our own privilege in even being *able* to zap away 21, 100, or even 1000 sats to a stranger on the internet to signal our support - but definitely not everyone can afford to participate in that kind of exchange. So yeah zaps are an incredible tool but shouldn’t become exclusionary to those who can’t participate. It just creates another kind of class system and paid-for attention market open only to those who can afford it.
