What's your go-to LN wallet for onboarding a complete newb?
Taking into account ease of setup and least number of "hey something's not working" texts later

Besides WoS 🙏
I stick to custodial for small amounts, sorry I do WoS...
But also Coinos.io
blink
A less common one, Shockwallet.app
Many people go for complex solutions that are more self custody but I think there's real value in showing them it can just work.
coinos and blink are both nice. Only tried shockwallet once, need to give it another go.
Totally agree on the complexity point. Think a lot of people get so far down the rabbit hole that it becomes hard to see stuff from the newb perspective. Most of us didn't start with a self-custodial LN wallet right off the bat.
eNuts is Cashu not LN, but that would be my go-to for least-hassles
Enuts is great and available on Apple/Android so that's solid. Only concern here would be a mint they start with shutting down soon after they begin. Would bring the help texts.
With that in mind Fedi might be a good option because at least there is a direct communication channel with the mint and other users in app. Free Madeira Fedi closed and the warning was there for anyone to see. Another option could be a liquid wallet disguised as LN like Helm. No channels, you get a seed, and super easy : https://helm-wallet.pages.dev/
They could even use Helm inside of Fedi, giving them 2 wallets with different tradeoffs in just 1 google search and 1 app download
Assuming the noob has an email which doesn’t have his name in it, I think stacker news is a good option. A simple custodial wallet within a PWA with lots of useful information which, hopefully, will encourage him to set up a self-custody wallet soon(ish).
UI/UX of SN wallet isnt great IMO, especially for someone totally new
stacker news is transitioning to non-custodial https://stacker.news/items/523435
primal, strike, blink, or wos depending on what's available to them
