Gif buttons are still not available on major clients

Thinking of ways to accelerate this

Wondering if it’s enough to have a pass-through API for Gifbuddy that shields client operators from the Terms and Conditions currently required by the existing API providers like GIPHY and Tenor (which I can only assume is the sole reason why gif buttons haven’t been implemented)

But that wouldn’t help backup gifs to nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 unless clients did NIP96 themselves on the backend

Any ideas?
