I wonder if onboarding into a zap-only client would incentivize people to explore btc & v4v more. I think if I hadn't known of either, I likely would have explored it right away... but I don't think I fall into common behavior demographics.

I also wonder how replies & conversation would fair if the majority went that way. One thing about likes & reactions that is sort of a positive for the whole, is they create room for signal in replies. There's a sticker reply plague killing any hope for meaningful conversation on fb lately & that whole thing made me think a lot about what a 'like' does actually provide beyond data collection😅 I'm definitely guilty of emoji replies from time to time, but I honestly wonder what percentage of likers would default to that, if they couldn't just click a button.

I appreciate these insights. It has come to my attention that zap and non zaps create a very different feel. I am testing out fountains integration into nostr. The notes I see now have likes as the current version is a direct pull from nostr.

This was me trying to articulate my thoughts and seeing what others contributed, thank you.

I have a Bitcoin knowledge and its how I found nostr & fountain I can't say how one would experience zaps only. However I remember the first time boosting Canadian Bitcoin pod. And it was magic. I earned sats and could then use them to create value for others. I paid for content by the minute and I could expressed my gratitude imerdiatly. Its still such a revolutionary idea.

As for emojis I really try to stick to my analogs besides my ✌️💜⚡🫂

I was just kind of thinking aloud too. There's definitely a different feel to it all with every client or app or feature. No one is having the same experience. Which is really cool & weird to think about.
