What started as what I thought would be a simple Next.js update from v14 to v15 ended up becoming a 3 day endeavor to try and fix my entire development environment, ending with me having to revert back to v14 for anything to work... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

FFS.

yea what happened to "Write Once, Run forever?" ๐Ÿ˜‚

Am i the only one who still has code running from last decade that's doing just fine?

Nah, same. In dead languages even. Still works

which ded languages? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™ve also been dealing with framework dumpster fires last couple days ๐Ÿซก JavaScriptโ€ฆ gotta love it

what kind? vue?

I've been sticking to vanilla js, a lot less headache but yes tradeoffs.

React sadly enough, my Vue stack is still holding strong ๐Ÿ˜„ but yeah vanilla still the way to go ๐Ÿ”ฅ

+100 to Vue for the Win :D

Best flavour still vanilla ๐Ÿค“

Next.js has a really pretty seductive prefab UI but every new release, has major breaking changes. What a huge maintenance headache.

this is why I stayed far away ....

Yeah, I'm looking to migrate rn. The dependency hell is especially apparent with Next. Vanilla JS is the definitely the way.

Astro.build with node.js ssr plugin, import react components ready to go.

Svelte 5 has a migrAItOn script. I mean it's all smooth and automatic, what could possibly go wrong? ๐Ÿ˜
