Ghey

It's much easier to have a bad beard than a good one, but to put it simply: resist the urge to do too much to it.

As the old adage goes; simplicity over complexity

Insecure people tend to overdo their style and grooming.

IDK, number 5 is a good curly beard. And it matters in quality of length vs overall length.

No 5 has great volume but (1) the length makes no sense it looks like a beesnest in relation to his face, (2) the contrast between the haircut and beard screams insecurity and attention needy, (3) the mustache has big Yosemite Sam points which are highly cosmopolitan and finally (4) he looks to be hiding a very weak jaw; beard should follow the jaw not fake it.

I can’t stand the curled mustache look. So lame.

For the most part, I agree. Some of these are borderline. Some of those side-shave haircuts are atrocious and bring the beards down further than they might have been otherwise. The clean lines are weird.

When I trim mine I don't go for clean lines. Just trim some of the stray hairs and shave under my neck for general comfort. Otherwise I leave it.

Gross.

How to Beard. πŸ§”β€β™‚οΈβœ‚οΈ

1. Cut and maintain by hand a moderate but clearly hand cut (shaggy) beard that follows you jawline.

2. Make the mustache part of the beard. Tame twisty long ends. Keep it in. Do not shorten or lengthen out of order to the beard.

3. Avoid Cosmopolitanism; no barber lines or fades. Do not overly wax. Do not make it too fancy. Keep a simple, moderate haircut and attire.

4. Earn your length with age.
