At a time when AI slop seems to be taking over the media landscape I'm making a point to only post and interact with things created directly by humans with intent.

I may not always know the difference so I'm trying to find my discernment now. There will always be ways to tell real from fake, but those clues might be hidden to those who fail to watch the transition closely.

Gotta look at Nostr + Zaps as a key solution to this problem long term.

Real vs fake is not human vs AI.

"AI" is just a database.

It's two kinds of humans.

Sincerity vs. dissimulation.

There is nothing new under the sun.

🤙🏻🌞

If I say that a video of an actual human is just as human as an AI generated video of a human that has never existed I might also say that the hoover dam is natural because it is made of materials sourced in nature.

That's not what I'm saying.

99% of AI media is slop. advertisement, click bait, propaganda or other dead internet bullshit. but also AI can allow young comic writer to make any kind of media he wants on a shoestring budget. I've seen and heard some hilarious AI content, but I also hate wading through the bullshit.

Yeah I've seen some almost high quality stuff coming out (news spoofs mostly) that were hilarious.

There will be more in the future I'm sure. I don't know how long I'll be able to tell it's AI though. It probably won't take long before I genuinely have no idea and it never goes back the other way.

I think that's been the CIA's goal for decades
