A lot of the Japanese accounts I've come across are very confusing to me, although very entertaining. They often have many posts with just a few words that either don't make sense to me, or seem like they are incomplete, or maybe a reply to a note that I can't see. I assume a big part of this is bad translation but it seems like more than that.
Maybe just a different style of using social media? Do English accounts seem this way to Japanese speakers? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I see them, I read them, they often don’t make to much sense. It’s a style thing. Quick line or word to express something. Usually if you follow throughout the day, they start making more sense. 🐶🐾🫡
There are several instances across languages where a particular word or phrase for an entire concept/notion/idea, has no ready equivalent across languages; which is not to say that they cannot be related to, but that, by virtue of time, geographic, cultural, historical differences, some words are 'short hand' to convey much that would require too many words for a readily succinct equivalent ... is a rambling off the top to your thought. ha!

Language is definitely at the root of this. The language of our birth has a huge impact on how we think, on our very ability to think.
