#[0] do you have an idea on how we could properly decentralize images on nostr? IMO using a centralized service for pictures isn't the best idea ever.

Tho one incentive for relays could be sats for image hosting. If there’s a standard it could be replicated across many. Puts more of a target on relays of course.
Maybe if different clients add a sats x image service will be great for a hosting service. The clients can make the standard and leave the relays simple.
Outside of the storage/bandwidth challenge, there's way more possibility of illegal content being in the form of images than text.
So I imagine even if we figure out a decentralized way for relays to host images and mirror them between each other, they'll be hesitant to have that liability.
This is why nostr needs to eventually run on hypercore & holepunch. For p2p to really work I think we have to collapse the divide between users & servers & make everyone a server to some small degree by default, & then encourage/incentivize super users to host as much as they can. That way the most important content has the most duplication, is easiest to access, & just impossible to censor.

Looks like it has a lot of features, but i’m not sure how I feel about it being a bitcoin-specific service
No Bitcoin needed, it’s just using the same type of keys, so your social media life can be backed up & recovered the same way Bitcoin can.
